UFC on VERSUS 3 Preview

Super quick intro because: 1. This is a non-PPV event and 2. The name of the freaking arena in Louisville is the KFC YUM! Center. (And yes they include the exclamation point.)
MAIN EVENT
Diego “Nightmare” Sanchez (22-4, 6 TKO’s, 9 submissions) +120
Vs
Martin “Hitman” Kampmann (17-4, 7 TKO’s, 6 submissions) -180
Diego “Nightmare” Sanchez (22-4, 6 TKO’s, 9 submissions) +120
Vs
Martin “Hitman” Kampmann (17-4, 7 TKO’s, 6 submissions) -180
Prediction: Kampmann lost in October to Jake Shields via split decision in a #1 contender match for GSP’s Welterweight title. Diego’s last fight was in October as well with a unanimous decision victory over Paulo Thiago. Diego is 1-1 back in the welterweight (170 pound) division after getting cut open in a loss to BJ Penn in a lightweight (155 pound) championship fight. The cut was so big you could have fit Charlie Sheen’s briefcase of cocaine in it with plenty of room to spare. Tough fight to call, I’m gonna go with my boy Sanchez to win a split decision and do some YES cartwheels (see below) all over the octagon. Fight of the Night Bonus
Main Card Fights
C.B. “The Doberman” Dollaway (11-2, 5 TKO’s, 3 submissions) +145
Vs
Mark “The Philippine Wrecking Machine” Munoz (9-2, 4 TKO’s, 1 submissions) -185
C.B. “The Doberman” Dollaway (11-2, 5 TKO’s, 3 submissions) +145
Vs
Mark “The Philippine Wrecking Machine” Munoz (9-2, 4 TKO’s, 1 submissions) -185
Prediction: The Doberman lost to Amir Sadollah in the finals of the Ultimate Fighter 7 and has only lost once since in 6 fights. Munoz has one of the longest nicknames in MMA, and trains at a gym that is walking home stumbling drunk distance from my place. I’ll take Munoz in a 2nd round KO over Dollaway, I don’t want to walk into him angry over a loss after a night of boozing at the Iron Mule dive bar. KO of the Night Bonus
Alessio “Legionarius” Sakara (15-7, 9 TKO’s, 2 submissions) +185
Vs
Chris Weidman (4-0, 2 TKO’s, 1 submissions) -225
Vs
Chris Weidman (4-0, 2 TKO’s, 1 submissions) -225
Prediction: Weidman, a NCAA All-American wrestler, is making his UFC debut against a guy that looks like he banged Snooki last week on the Jersey Shore. Legionarius brings a 3 fight winning streak to Louisville, but is a decent sized underdog. I’ll go with the newcomer Weidman to win by unanimous decision.
Damacio “The Angel of Death” Page (15-5, 8 TKO’s, 6 submissions) +230
Vs
Brian Bowles (8-1, 3 TKO, 5 submissions) -290
Vs
Brian Bowles (8-1, 3 TKO, 5 submissions) -290
Prediction: Marky Mark look alike Brian Bowles ended Miguel Torres’ 17 fight winning streak and was the WEC Bantamweight (135 pounds) champion of the world until losing to current WEC/UFC Bantamweight Champion, Dominick Cruz. This is a rematch from 2008 when Bowles won via a guillotine choke submission in the first round. This time I predict Bowles will win via a rear naked choke in the third round. Submission of the Night Bonus
Prelim Fights on FACEBOOK (Yes its true)
Joe “Daddy” Stevenson (31-12, 6 TKO’s, 15 submissions) -145
Vs
Danny “Last Call” Castillo (10-3, 4 TKO’s, 4 submissions) +115
Joe “Daddy” Stevenson (31-12, 6 TKO’s, 15 submissions) -145
Vs
Danny “Last Call” Castillo (10-3, 4 TKO’s, 4 submissions) +115
Prediction: Joe Daddy, Ultimate Fighter Season 2 winner, will win via guillotine choke submission in the second round because he has 5 kids to feed, I mean 4, like the dude in Total Recall! Stupid ass Youtube won't let me embed the video, but TRUST ME you want to watch it.
